I agree that Don will continue for many years. The music community seems very accepting of older rockers. I was impressed to see CBS Sunday morning last weekend featuring Bob Seger at 61 still eager to rock hard on tour, and easily selling out the Michigan shows.
To me anything from DOKKEN is worth it. Die hard fans such as many of us appreciate the chance to hear any old material, as well as wait ever so patiently for the new stuff. I personally look forward to many more years of ROKKIN WITH DOKKEN, to add to the 18 times I have seen them, and met them(10) so far. I would also love to see an acoustic type gig where Don would play all of his ballads. That aspect of his song writing, for some reason, doesn't get the credit or airplay that it so much deserves. Care For You, Goodbye My Friend, Bitter Regret, and so on should be all over the airwaves but aren't. I don't get it. Must have something to do with the promoting end of it all. I wish Don and the Boys all the luck and continued success. Peace, Mike
Speedy, although Japan is closer to Australia I would prefer to see the US shows and most likely West Coast shows. Myself and my wife have good friends in LA (La Habra) and also friends in Las Vegas that we want to catch up with. I figure that Dokken will not be coming to Australia so the only way to see them is for me to make the trip. I've seen Dokken only once before and that was on 1 February 2002 in Las Vegas. We planned to see them a few days later in Ventura but the show was cancelled as it clashed with the superbowl. We met Don backstage in Las Vegas (thanks so much to Aaron for organising it) and it was the best 40 minutes of my life chatting with Don. I have a huge framed picture on my living room wall of me sitting on the couch backstage at the House of Blues Las Vegas with Don.
When I said I think it will be Dokken's last tour I was not suggesting that Don will retire. I think he will still produce music and tour in the future but as a solo artist. I just feel that the band are doing the retro thing with LSA as a final gift to all the true Dokken fans cause that's what we've wanted for so long. I may be wrong and I hope I am.
So good news for the cd ( very nice cover!!!) and especially for the dvd, i hope some good stuff ^^ MC1610, you are from australia? You are very lucky to have the chance to met Don You think they wouldn't go there? This is not a good news
IMHO, if Dokken is still huge in Japan, I would go there to see them since they will play in an arena compared to the small clubs they usually play here in the US. But of course, everything in Japan is expensive but way more cooler than here.
Freakin' A! Can't wait for March 13th now! I'll be on pins and needles!

Sadly, Dokken (and almost all heavy metal) is no longer huge in Japan. It actually hasn't been for a few years now, although it survived there as a major influence for many years after its demise in America's mainstream. The best places for metal now are Scandanavian countries, Germany and South America.
I like the soundclips and love the artwork. But I am disturbed that either (i) this is a 1981 recording and Jeff Pilson is touted as having performed when Don & Jon (who is the band's attorney as well as guitarist) know damn well that this is simply untrue, or (ii) this is a 1983 recording being touted as an earlier, 1981 recording from the band's dawn on the scene.
Hey all, I just got this on a Myspace bulletin. It doesn't say *where* the clip will be posted, it may just be on Myspace, I'm not sure...we'll keep on the lookout!
"Sometime this Sunday between the hours of 6pm-10pm PST, we will posting a unreleased track off the upcoming live album "FROM CONCEPTION"
Be the first to hear it this sunday before the cd comes out!"
yes, i've got this one too, from rokken dokken chicks, that's it no? maybe on her my space or on official dokken my space, i don't lol So impatient to hear that!!
Quote:Does Don know about this? Did he give his okay?
I'm assuming that he indeed does know about this as it came from both his personal Myspace and the band Myspace sites.
However, I forgot to add my disclaimer, but no, I did not hear this come from his own lips nor did I see the blood in which it was written and therefore it might not be true.
Just checking...'Cuz it doesn't say "Dokken" unless Don says it says "Dokken"..... Another question, Why would he (or someone else) post it there and not here first, as this is suppose to be official site? The reason I ask is because I have no inclination to lurk on myspace and when I do, I find it a PIA to navigate...-m
...Ahhh! I love the smell of Aqua Net in the morning....
Yeah I know Mypace is a PITA; I don't hang out there either, just check for bulletins etc once or twice a day.
And to answer your question, I can't. I don't know who does the Myspace pages for Don and Dokken, but apparently that person was given the info to post. When it appears that legit I figure it's ok to copy and paste to the board.
I don't get any updates from that band; I'm just a mod. If anyone gets an official update it would probably be Aaron...I just try to give you all any info that I possibly can without being fired.
From what what MS B. has siadin that past that Don nor any other band member run the Don Dokken/Dokkken myspace page.

Hey Matt, Just because I stated that I do not know who is doing the Dokken and Don Dokken My Space does not mean that they do not run it. I am sure they get their information and instruction from them much like Aaron and I do.
I think it's a fan running it to be Honest with you?

Whoever is doing *it* seems to be doing a great job! Hats off to them.
I do think they are indeed working in behalf of Don and Dokken.
It would be nice to get the scoop here first but it does not always work that way. They have many avenues of releasing information, some may be more label driven, interview driven, etc..
Thankfully we have people like Rainlayde who stays on top of alot of the other sources and brings them back to us.
Matt got me thinking...It could be the bands PR office, actually. If you think about it, this site and Don's personal one are probably the ones he has the most control (didn't want to use that word, but...)over. The rest are all part of the machinery of the recording business that he's had to deal with for the years he's been in it. And, I really didn't mean to stir up any controversy, but I was just verbalizing my frustration of things being "scooped" on myspace, and not here.....-m
